Scotts Bluff National Monument Visitor Center

A Landmark for Traveling West

The Visitor Center at Scotts Bluff National Monument, which includes a theater, exhibits, collectibles storage, and administrative areas, received an expansion and upgrade to correct existing safety issues, improve flexibility and usability of existing spaces as well as to reduce energy use for the spaces. The renovations include new power, new lighting, and improvements to the low voltage special systems in the facility, specifically security and telecommunications.

The visitor center is home to a large collection of sketches, paintings, and photographs by William Henry Jackson, a Western artist who was instrumental in the creation of several national parks. We ensured that the lighting and electrical needs of the exhibit spaces made for a great viewing experience and replaced and relocated existing electrical gear to minimize risk during future potential flooding events, replaced the existing utility transformer and campus wide electrical distribution center, and coordinated with the utility company. This project aimed to rehabilitate, restore, and expand the visitor center to provide memorable experiences to guests.
