Kathleen Menyhart, PE

SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER

Kathleen grew up in Michigan and spent time living in Chicago and Rhode Island before moving to Colorado. Her early interest in light and aesthetics led to a degree in Photography and later her interest in science led to a degree in Physics. She spent the next decade as a high school physics teacher, engaging students with hands-on activities. Some of her favorites include making biodiesel from used cooking oil, studying light with pinhole cameras, and dissecting audio speakers to understand electricity and magnetism. Moving to Colorado to pursue a graduate degree in Architectural Engineering with a lighting focus brought together her divergent interests and led to a second career in design.

Fun Fact:

Growing up with parents who ran a travel agency, Kathleen caught the travel bug early in life and has spent time as much time as possible traveling the world. She has been to over 20 countries on 5 continents and hopes to see many more.
