SENIOR LIGHTING DESIGNER

Kat loves light, and she loves people, which is a good combo considering her career choice! Kat’s lighting design experience includes management and sales for lighting showrooms and manufacturers, as well as running her own lighting design firm. Taking a unique path into the field, Kat learned lighting design the old-school way with stencils, scale rulers, colored pens, and lots of white-out. She’s since embraced technology and honed her skills into the 21st century. Kat is always on the lookout for interesting lighting moments—the crisp tranquility of sunrise, the inherent energy of high-noon, or the sparkle on a lake during golden hour—and then using the toolbox of lighting design to replicate those feelings at human-scale. A dedicated yogi, Kat earned her teaching certificate in Barcelona, and enjoys both practicing and teaching yoga. Kat’s non-yoga interests include reading, crossword puzzles, doing artsy things, travelling, and hanging out with her teenage kids.
