CSM Residence Hall VII

More than just a Residence Hall

Residence Hall VII is designed to provide sophomores with apartment-style housing that supports their transition to independent living, in line with Mines’ mission to cultivate a vibrant community culture. Situated as the first building south of 19th Street, it will play a pivotal role in shaping the character of the South Campus. The residence hall offers a range of amenities to foster both individual and communal growth, including a community study/lounge, shared kitchens, fitness and recreation spaces, and a small café with both cash and meal plan options. Additional features such as a mail room, common laundry spaces, and other support areas further enhance the living experience.

To meet the needs of the building, AE Design will oversee the technology design with an array of AV solutions. Small lounges, conference rooms, and meeting spaces will feature single displays with wired connections for interconnectivity. Larger, multi-functional spaces, such as the dining area, game room, motion lab, and multi-purpose room, will benefit from more integrated AV systems.

Wired network connections will be available at all workstations, point-of-sale locations, and IP devices such as printers and vending machines. Wireless Internet will be available throughout the building to ensure seamless connectivity for residents and staff. The safety and security of the building will be prioritized with a comprehensive surveillance system, including cameras at key exterior, interior entry, and staircase locations, with the potential for additional cameras in common areas and residential corridors.
