Arvada Aquatic Center

An Aquatic Facility for the Future

The Arvada Aquatic Center (AAC) is the result of a collaborative effort between the City of Arvada, Apex Park and Recreation District, and Jeffco Public Schools. Designed by OLC, with lighting and electrical engineering services provided by AE Design, this 50,000-square-foot facility serves as a regional destination for both competitive and recreational water activities. Key features include a 10-lane, 50-meter competition pool, and a therapeutic warm-water pool, catering to a wide range of users while ensuring accessibility with universal changing rooms and ramp access. The design emphasizes both practicality and inclusivity, positioning the AAC as a central hub for aquatic events and programs.

Sustainability is central to the AAC’s mission, with the facility aiming for LEED Silver certification. The building incorporates energy-efficient and innovative construction methods that help minimize the ecological footprint, ensuring the facility's long-term sustainability.

More than just a building, the AAC acts as a focal point for the community, offering a premier competition pool with seating for 800 spectators, alongside a variety of inclusive programs for therapy, education, and recreation. It serves as a catalyst for economic and community engagement, setting a new standard for sustainable, accessible design in the region.
