Arizona Drive Residence

Scenic Surroundings

Designed as an optimal gathering place for relaxation, this Telluride, Colorado home combines contemporary design with clean lines and bright spaces while integrating the mountain home style. Huge windows highlight the best part of the property - its mountainous surroundings. Our lighting design was informed by the beautiful surrounding scenery, ensuring that the architecture was highlighted without fixtures intruding on the contemporary design. Meticulous details were designed, right down to avoiding placing visible fixtures in the ceilings, to let the wooden beams become the focal points of the clean white ceilings.

Working closely with the owner and architect, we tackled the unique constraints of a mountain home, making sure everything was in compliance with the Telluride dark-sky ordinance and tapping into our resources to source fixtures available in such a remote town, without breaking the budget.

The house is fully customized for its occupants. By using layers of indirect light with some accent lighting, visitors can go from reading a book in the sleeping bunk to cooking dinner for guests to enjoying the sunset with lighting to match each mood at a moment’s notice.
