The Arch Store
The Gateway to Souveniers
The iconic St. Louis Arch, officially called the The Gateway Arch National Park, reflects St. Louis' role in the Westward Expansion of the United States during the nineteenth century. The Arch Store is located at the arch and required significant upgrades as part of a larger renovation project. The project included new electrical power and lighting for the retail display areas, specialty lighting for retail casework, illuminated displays, and signage. Also part of the project was power and low-voltage cabling design to support systems for computers, sales equipment, photography equipment, audio / visual systems, access control, and security.
Part of the project challenges involved the clever integration of lighting fixtures and electrical pathways into the specialty casework and millwork throughout the store. With additional in-depth coordination with the architect and retail designer, as well as special attention to detail work, we developed the electrical and lighting solutions for display areas and achieved the clean, modern look the store was aiming for.
